Over the past few months, the Steering Group has been busy behind the scenes undertaking all the administration required to set up a community pub. As well as liaising and negotiating with Ewelme, the team has spent time developing and writing the business plan, assessing the renovation work that needs doing, defining a budget, creating the Community Benefit Society (the legal ‘organisation’ which will conduct the business of the pub for the benefit of the community), applying for a bank account, preparing the community share offer, and generally ensuring that we have all our ducks in a row before going back to the community.
We appreciate it may seem to have gone quiet, but rest assured there has been a lot going on in the background. We remain committed to creating a community resource that everyone in Marsh Gibbon can be proud of.
